Surgery Sites Our Plastic Surgeons: Because we educate mostly breast surgery, liposuction and tummy tuck patients; we require our plastic surgeons to be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, which qualifies the surgeon to perform both body and facial procedures. By choosing an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon; patients are ensured the surgeon has graduated from an accredited medical school and completed at least five years of residency (usually three years of general surgery and two years of plastic surgery). An ABPS certified plastic surgeon must also practice for two years and pass written and oral examinations in plastic surgery. There are over 5000 ABPS certified plastic surgeons, and of them only a small percentage are invited to join our plastic surgeon directory. I have personally checked the qualifications of our member surgeons. In fact, our plastic surgeons meet higher standards than those of any other referral service as we only list select plastic surgeons to be in our referral directory. Our plastic surgeons must also maintain that standard in order to remain in our surgeon directory. About

The Genesis Cosmetic Surgery Center and Medical Spa was founded in 1998 by Timothy R. Jones, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Jones is the Director of the Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center as well as CEO of the Genesis Cosmetic Surgery Center and Medical Spa.

'Tim'
Jones has been involved in medicine all his life. His father was a
pediatrician and his mother a registered nurse. While growing up in
Shawnee, Oklahoma with his 2 brothers and sister, he focused on tennis
as a high school athlete before deciding to pursue on a career in
medicine. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with distinction
in three years, and proceeded to graduate from the Oklahoma University
School of Medicine, where he was named member of Alpha Omega Alpha,
an honorary academic society, and received the Merck Distinguished
Student Award. During his training in Otolaryngology Head and Neck
Surgery at the University of Virginia, Dr. Jones developed a special
interest in facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He completed
an additional three years of specialty training, residency and fellowship,
in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.
As a result of his unique dual board certification in both Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology (ENT), Dr. Jones was recruited to Washington University School of Medicine where he served as an Assistant Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for seven years. During this time he received international acclaim for pioneering two plastic surgery procedures. In 1998, Dr. Jones founded the Genesis Cosmetic Surgery Center and Medical Spa.

Following completion of a B.S. in Dietetics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Ms. Berner completed her M.S. in Medical Nutrition in 1991 at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Mo. She has over 16 years of experience in the field of nutrition.
She is a member of several professional dietetic organizations, including the American Dietetic Association and the American Heart Association.
Her experience as a dietitian is extensive and includes:
