Plastic Surgeons:
Because
we educate mostly breast surgery, liposuction and tummy tuck patients;
we require our plastic surgeons to be certified by the American Board
of Plastic Surgery, which qualifies the surgeon to perform both
body and facial procedures. By choosing an American Board of Plastic
Surgery certified plastic surgeon; patients are ensured the surgeon
has graduated from an accredited medical school and completed at least
five years of residency (usually three years of general surgery and
two years of plastic surgery). An ABPS certified plastic surgeon must
also practice for two years and pass written and oral examinations in
plastic surgery.
There
are over 5000 ABPS certified plastic surgeons, and of them only a small
percentage are invited to join our plastic surgeon directory. I have
personally checked the qualifications of our member surgeons. In fact,
our plastic surgeons meet higher standards than those of any other referral
service as we only list select plastic surgeons to be in our referral
directory. Our plastic surgeons must also maintain that standard in
order to remain in our surgeon directory.
About
Cosmetic Surgeons:
Some refer to plastic surgeons as cosmetic surgeons; however, a plastic
surgeon is what you really want. Most doctors calling themselves "cosmetic
surgeons" are not true plastic surgeons and are not qualified or
experienced in plastic surgery. To be sure you are seeing a "true"
plastic surgeon for any body plastic surgery, such as lipo, tummy tucks
and breast enhancement implant augmentation choose an American Board
of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) certified plastic surgeon.

Meet Ft. Myers, Florida Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Campanile
Dr. Frank E. Campanile is a Fort Myers plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. An honors student throughout his training, Dr. Campanile is the recipient of several research awards in the field of plastic surgery and has presented his research at numerous conferences and plastic surgery society meetings.
Dr. Campanile earned his M.D. degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and remained at the University to complete his general surgery and plastic surgery residencies. He continued his surgical training with a hand and microsurgery fellowship at Ohio State University. These 9 years of specialized training allowed Dr. Campanile to refine his skills and learn advanced plastic surgery techniques.
Born in Italy, Dr. Campanile is fluent in English, French, and Italian. In addition, Spanish is also spoken in the office. He moved to Florida eleven years ago, where he opened his plastic surgery practice in Fort Myers, along with a medical day spa. His goal is to blend scientific expertise with the aesthetic arts to help you create a look that captures and expresses your individuality.

Selecting Your Surgeon
Dr. Campanile believes that every man and woman considering cosmetic surgery should take great care in selecting their surgeon. When you visit local Fort Myers cosmetic surgery practices and compare surgeons, be sure to ask the following questions:
- Are you board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery?
- Did you complete surgical residencies, and if so, where?
- What additional training have you had?
- How long have you performed cosmetic surgery in private practice?
- How many procedures have you performed?
- May I see before and after pictures of your past patients?
After meeting with a surgeon, ask yourself some questions as well:
- Do I like this surgeon?
- Did the surgeon take the time to listen to me?
- How well did the surgeon address my concerns?
- Did the surgeon explain the procedure and give the details I need?
- Will this surgeon take the time to meet with my loved ones after my surgery?
