Breast Implant Patient: Ceci

I'm 28, married with two kids, 6 and 4. I work from home (although you'd never know it by the amount of time I spend on this site!) and am loving it! I do desktop publishing, which I enjoy very much, online consulting and searching for people in the adoption triad--(adoptees, birth families, etc). I'm also a contract speaker/ and writer. I do workshops, conferences, and lectures on race relations, discrimination, etc. I love this best of all.

If you have seen or heard from Ceci, please Email , we are all VERY worried about her.

Breast Implant Patient: AmandaFit

Hi, I'm Amanda. I'm 27, 5'3", 110# and this is a pic from a recent fitness contest I was in (Before my BA). I'm trying to get back in as good as shape before I post my after pic. I had my BA on 9/2/99. I love this web site . . . it is the greatest and I now love helping new people.

Breast Implants for 13 Years!
I had breast augmentation in 1988, I had the MIM implant, this is textured on the outside with some silicone and filled with saline. I became very concerned a few years later when everyone began talking about silicone and breast implant problems. Fortunately, I didn't listen to any of the talk show hosts, but went to my plastic surgeon for the correct information, and also got the opinion a few years later from a very respected surgeon I became friends with, (I am a trauma nurse). It is now 13 years later, my breasts are still soft, I have no problem with activities, and still am very pleased with the results.

Why did I have breast implants, I had what you'd call micro-plasia (minimal breast tissue or very small breasts), I had the surgery performed at age 38 after I had my two sons. I was teased a lot growing up as a teenager and was unable to fit into any clothes properly. I did not get really large implants I went from an A cup to a C cup. The personal satisfaction and self-esteem after the implants was important to me, very few people except my husband sister and brother know that I had the operation done. I would not deny it if anyone would have asked me though because I truly feel that if one perceives augmentation as an improved in their self-imagine go for it. I am truly pleased.

My advice would be to be completely well-informed, have the implants done by a certified plastic surgeon, have at least two consultations with your surgeon before deciding to have the surgery, know all the risks involved, and why you want the implants. It won't give you a new life or save your marriage or get you more boyfriends but it can make you feel good about yourself, if done for the right reason. ~B

A.K.A. Veganbaby

This is me & my Hubby of 12 years. Almost 5 years ago I had a reduction due to slipped disk & arthritis in neck. I went from a saggy D to a perfect C. I had lost over 50 lbs. 2 1/2 years ago & due to weight training was so small couldn't even wear a bra so I got my BA Feb. 4th, 2000. I am now a 36 D!!! I also teach Kickboxing & no the new boobies do not effect my kickboxing or weight training. I have 2 little girls 9 & 2 1/2 & live in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

I am 25 5'5 118 32b and about to get a 32C or D! I want to look like Carmen Electra. I am so happy! I decided to get implants after I was at a bar and they refused to give me a drink because they thought I was a teenager (I was not wearing a bra that day!). I have decided on under, smooth, saline maybe 300cc's. Me and my friend are getting ours done at the same time and we found the best doctor! We love your sight!

Kate's Breast Augmentation Surgery Journal

Before Breast Augmentation Surgery

I wore inserts all through high school & after that. I got my implants when I was 22 years old. I researched it inside & out for 6 months straight! It was like an obsession. I was going to go to the surgeon who did my mom's nose but she hated her outcome, said he was rude & lied to her about a free redo. My Mom had heard of this great surgeon in my area. He has been on Oprah, been in Time & Health magazine. I had a consultation a month before my surgery & my consulter was so nice! She even had the surgery herself so she could explain everything to me. Go in well informed cause they ask a lot of questions. I was a small 34B & didn't feel like I was a woman & still felt like a lil girl. I was SO tired of wearing those inserts that I put my mind to it that I would get them! The office I went to you had to pay in full 2 weeks prior to your surgery so the next month & half I worked all I could to save the last amount of $$ I needed. Luckily I had money I was saving but it ended up being boob money! Haha

Breast Implant Size

At my consultation I got to try on different sizes of implants. I tried on the 300cc & 400cc. I decided on the 400cc. I had a picture I got from a plastic surgery site online of what I wanted. I wanted to be a full C. I wanted to fill out my bikinis & shirts like I never did before! For once in my life I will fill out my clothes! It's a dream!!! At first I thought I was going too big but I'm glad I did get 400cc or else I would have regretted it. I didn't want to go to small because of ALL the money I was spending on them. I had the aerola incision & its a month after my surgery & you can barely even tell it was there. My surgeon is one of the best doctors in the country! The money was DEFINITELY worth it. I never had the depression after my surgery or anything. I was happy I did it the entire time after & still feel that way. I chose smooth, round under. 390cc filled to 400cc.

The Surgery
The night before my surgery my mom told my dad about it just in case anything went wrong with it & he went BALLISTIC! I am still to this day kicked out of my house & we have not spoken since. I'm not allowed to any family functions  because of him. Him & I never really talked anyway so I'm not worried about it. If he really cared about me he'd understand but its been almost 2 months after my surgery. He took me off of the car insurance, medical insurance & is making me put my car in my name. I'm writing this story because I know young girls are afraid to do this because of what their parents will do.

My mom was 110% supportive & I'm still very close with her. She stayed w/ me 3 days after my surgery cause she was so furious with my father for kicking me out. My mom knew about my getting the surgery a month prior. I went in for my surgery an hour before to make sure my blood pressure & all is well with me. The doctor came in to ensure I'm getting the right size & drew on my chest for surgery. I remember taking 5 pills & then talking to my mom for a half an hour. Then they had me change into the robe and go and lie on the table then I had an IV put in my arm. I don't remember anything after that I just remember waking up & them wrapping me. I had NO pain whatsoever after my surgery. I'm the biggest wuss on the face of this planet too! I was very surprised. If you expect the worse it will be a lot better. I felt sore every morning & occasional swelling but that's it. I had to take 4 different pills anyway so that helped too. I was in a moo moo for a week haha! I could lift my arm the next day almost the whole way. I took 2 weeks off of work & was fine to go back. I had to go back the next morning so the doc could check to see that everything is ok. Then I had to go back a week later to get my stitches out. You can barely even see my scar & its only been a month! I have to go back to take my pictures in July & for a check up. My sensation in my nipples is WAY sensitive but I like it! haha j/k I get occasional shooting pains, but rarely ever.

Month after
It's been a little over a month & I feel great! Its like they're a part of me now. My mom thinks they are too big but they are just right for what I wanted! I bought all new bras & shirts! I love it! I look GREAT in all my bikinis & clothes & am so happy I did it.
