We are excited to say that we have been recognized as an official physician training center for Candela, and the first one to be so honored in South Carolina. We are also one of only two full service Candela laser centers in the state of South Carolina, and the only one in the Pee Dee Region. All four of our state-of-the-art lasers have been featured on many national makeover shows, including "Extreme Makeover". We have many different treatment options available, each one tailored to your individual needs. Our physician, registered nurses, and a nurse practitioner are available for all laser services. We believe in providing only the very best in medical care, and therefore do not employ laser “techs” as many laser centers do. We are members of the American Society of Lasers in Surgery and Medicine and we attend regular scientific meetings to stay abreast of new developments in this exciting field of medicine. We have some of the same laser therapies that have previously been available only in medical centers like Duke, Johns Hopkins, the Mayo Clinic, and MUSC. Now you don’t need to travel to have these superior services! We have the technology to effectively treat rosacea, leg veins up to 2.5mm, active acne, acne and surgical scars, stretch marks, port wine and other birth marks, angiomas, brown sun spots, freckles, wrinkles, pre-cancerous actinic keratosis and more! We also have 2 separate laser hair reduction systems to treat ALL skin types very effectively.... one is best for lighter skin types I-III and one is best for tanned, Asian, and African American skin types IV-VI. We will tailor all treatments according to YOUR needs

We Care

During your free consultation your skin will be carefully cleansed and analyzed by a licensed Registered Nurse/Esthetician. We will discuss your medical history, and the goals you have for your skin, and will together develop a plan of action based on your particular needs. By following a specially prescribed home care system, and regular treatments in our center, we can give you the skin you have always wanted. We also take professional before and after photos so that you can see your progress along with way!

Peter Zavell, M.D. is the Medical Director of Heavenly Skin. Dr. Zavell received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in 1986 from Harvard College, and his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1992. After completing his residency in Emergency Medicine at John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland, the Zavell’s located to San Antonio. Two years later, in 1998, they relocated to Florence South Carolina. Along with his wife Susan, Dr. Zavell enjoys helping patients achieve their goals in aesthetics. Both he and his wife are active members of the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery and will soon sit for the American Board of Laser Surgery.

Susan Zavell is a Registered Nurse who received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University in Houston Texas in 1992. She was employed as a Woman’s Health nurse for many years, specializing in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, and Gynecology. Having a special place in her heart for the needs of women in the area for a true Medi-Spa, she saw the void and decided to fill it.

Susan states, “I had been interested in the Medi-Spa business for a number of years, and I was constantly reading the latest research journals in Dermatology. Yet I suffered with severe Adult Acne and hyperpigmentation after the birth of my first child, and this was a very embarrassing problem for me. I felt like there was no way for me to get into the Spa industry when I myself had such a problem with my skin. I went to several different Dermatologists to try to remedy the problem, but despite their best efforts, nothing worked. Eventually the drug Accutane was recommended, and due to the serious side effects, I did not want to take that route. I did some research and found some products and treatments that actually worked, and this motivated me to follow my dream of opening my own spa.”

Susan completed her Esthetics training in Columbia South Carolina at Esthetics International and now has a real passion for helping others with their skin problems. “I love helping people find the skin they have always wanted. Acne clients are my favorite, mainly because I really empathize with them, but my Anti-Aging clients excite me as well. We carry only Medical Grade products, and they are designed to make significant changes in the skin. It is so very rewarding to see the transformation in people and watch as their self-confidence grows.”
