Our Plastic Surgeons:

Because we educate mostly breast surgery, liposuction and tummy tuck patients; we require our plastic surgeons to be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, which qualifies the surgeon to perform both body and facial procedures. By choosing an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon; patients are ensured the surgeon has graduated from an accredited medical school and completed at least five years of residency (usually three years of general surgery and two years of plastic surgery). An ABPS certified plastic surgeon must also practice for two years and pass written and oral examinations in plastic surgery.

There are over 5000 ABPS certified plastic surgeons, and of them only a small percentage are invited to join our plastic surgeon directory. I have personally checked the qualifications of our member surgeons. In fact, our plastic surgeons meet higher standards than those of any other referral service as we only list select plastic surgeons to be in our referral directory. Our plastic surgeons must also maintain that standard in order to remain in our surgeon directory.

Some refer to plastic surgeons as cosmetic surgeons; however, a plastic surgeon is what you really want. Most doctors calling themselves "cosmetic surgeons" are not American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) certified plastic surgeons. When considering any plastic surgery procedure of the body, such as lipo, tummy tucks and breast surgery, you can be sure your doctor is qualified, trained and experienced in plastic surgery by looking for a plastic surgeon that is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). Meet Schererville, Indiana Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Galante

Dr. Gus Galante, a board-certified plastic surgeon serving the Northern Indiana area, specializes in breast enlargement and other breast enhancement techniques, and in plastic surgery of the body and face. 

Raised in Northwest Indiana, Dr. Galante returned home to open his private practice several years ago.  He enjoys being close to his family members who live nearby, and he feels fortunate to work with the warm, down-to-earth people from the Midwestern communities near where he grew up.  In fact, as Dr. Galante expresses it, his patients’ healthy attitudes toward their looks and realistic surgical expectations are keys to success.  “When I meet people who are basically happy with themselves, I know I can make them happier,” he said.  “And that’s the most rewarding aspect of the work I do.”  On the other hand, according to Dr. Galante, “No plastic surgeon can turn a generally unhappy person into a happy person.”

The mutual regard Dr. Galante and his patients have for each other has formed the foundation for a healthy, growing practice.  Dr. Galante’s patients refer other people looking to improve themselves, patients who then describe their results as “more than satisfying,” “wonderful,” and even “priceless.”

Dr. Galante chose to become a plastic surgeon in order to incorporate a love of science and a deep interest in the humanities into his life’s work.  Though qualified to open his practice after serving a general surgery residency and completing a plastic surgery residency at the Loyola University Medical Center, he elected to receive specialized fellowship training in reconstructive breast surgery and aesthetic surgery at the Institute for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Dr. Galante distinguished himself throughout his educational career.  At Wabash College, where he pursued a liberal arts degree, Dr. Galante graduated summa cum laude.  He then attended the University of Indiana University Medical School and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society based on his academic record.
