WORST PART OF SURGERY: The anxiety of waiting and the amount of time it took for me to feel back up to full speed again. I'm a fast healer, and pushed hard after the recovery but I wasn't prepared for the pain or my own inability to do so many things.

Has anyone made any negative remarks to you about your surgery?: I had one young man remark he didn't see why women felt they had to do this to further their career, as if most women would even consider it for such a reason. But then he was young and single, and had probably never seen what 2 pregnancies can do to a woman.

COMMENT: I've been so busy since my surgery, I'm not sure I've really gone through any of the type of mental and emotional changes some of my friends who have had implants said I would go through. It just seems part of my life now. It was painful but this too did pass. It is rather nice not to have to wear a padded bra to fill out my clothes. My husbands attitude hasn't changed towards me, but then I didn't expect it to, he was never a breast man. However, I will say he was extremely supportive, helped me through recovery like a true saint. Without him, I'm not so sure it would have been such a bearable procedure.

WORST PART OF SURGERY: First the anxiety of waiting and counting down the days..thereafter the actual surgery. The pain was pretty unbearable and I would personally rate it up there with childbirth (I've had two kids).

Has anyone made any negative remarks to you about your surgery?: No one so far. On the contrary, the majority of people I've already encountered that are close to me are complimentary of it. Let's see as time goes by.

COMMENT: Rebecca and everyone that has shared in this web site was not kidding about the pain. To me, it was pretty intense..particularly the first 24 hours. It does get pretty tolerable as the days go by, and here I am just five days later, taking no more than extra strength Tylenol and doing just fine. I do have some discomfort, but nothing I can't live with right now. Just be prepared. I thought I was pretty tolerant of pain and I really underestimated the amount of pain I encountered. A lot of it I'm sure is attributable to the fact that my implants were pretty large (550/575cc's) and I had started as a AA cup. Another thing is that my implants are submuscular, and although I understand this gives the best appearance, still "what price beauty!!!" Last but not least, do this operation for yourself and never ever for anyone else. You're the one that has to endure the pain and discomfort, and it's your body..you have to live with it. Also, for you girls that bruise easy...try Arnica Montana 30x, my plastic surgeon prescribed this homeopathic medicine in order to minimize bruising and trauma associated with muscle tissue, and although I bruised, I bruised very slightly and it's already disappearing...I'm sure this medicine helped significantly. COMMENT: I decided to have this surgery about a month ago, because at 24 I am tired of having such a small chest, (A cup). I was very worried about the risks but the thought of having breasts was something I have always wanted. No longer do I have to wear padded push up bras and swimsuits and hear the comments about having a boys chest.I am thrilled that I did this and it was worth every penny, all 5000$ of which I had to get a loan for.I am 5 foot 2 inches and 115 pounds with a small frame and wanted to be an average C cup, I got 350cc saline filled implants, and they are a perfect size. I made sure the surgeon was board certified and had no disciplinary action against him.I researched implants on the Internet and learned stuff I didn't know. I chose to have the implants placed under the muscle for a more natural looking result as well as less chance of capsular contraction,had smooth implants and had the incision under the breast. Following surgery I was in a great deal of pain for a couple of days, now I am up and about. They are still quite high and firm and when I move I can hear the fluid squishing, I hope that stops. I am very glad I did it.

I had heard the comparison to being hit by a truck, having a ton of bricks on your chest, etc. When I woke up, I felt as though I had been shot in the chest with a cannon ball and the cannon ball had gotten stuck in there. I was certain that had I been able to move my head (hurt too bad to try) and look, I would have seen smoke rising from the edges. It felt as though my ribs were being pried apart and it was "hot" around the edges. I had a caffeine headache that afternoon and got sick at my stomach. That was interesting!!! Being put to sleep was a concern, but that was great!! In fact, I made them put me back to sleep (more stuff in the IV) 3 times after waking up. I just kept saying "Hurts!!" I figured I would stay under as long as they would allow. (grin)

 WORST PART OF SURGERY/COMPLICATIONS: Waking up and shaking from the cold room was the WORST. My poor strained muscles had had about all they could take! I couldn't stop shaking, and they had to pile so many heated blankets on me! :) Also, the hospital wouldn't let me go home until I went to the bathroom for the first time with them. It took me SIX HOURS (because of the anesthetic), and they had to fill me with two extra IV bags of saline water before I could manage to go to the bathroom. Needless to say, I was up every two hours that night to go to the bathroom. I NEVER get up in the middle of the night!

 COMMENTS: I really don't have any pain, save one thing. I have a SHARP, EXCRUCIATING pain on my side, in my armpit area. Otherwise, nothing else really hurts. I had a kidney infection that was MUCH worse than this! :)

My big fear now is that they are too big. I was always very small, and always quite happy about it. I wasn't happy, after having 3 children, with the loss of what volume I did have and the sagging I was left with. I thought I made it clear to the plastic surgeon repeatedly that I wanted to be as small as possible as long as the goal of "refilling" was accomplished. I know it's still early (one week) and the swelling needs to go down more and everything will drop a bit, but today when the plastic surgeon took off the bandages, he made it sound like this was pretty much it, and I'm not happy about that.

Right now they are still high as my nipple points down some but in a bra and shirt they look great! My plastic surgeon says when they finish dropping I will have more projection at the bottom of my breast and they will stand out more.

 Although, had you told me two or three weeks after surgery I would feel as good as I did before (compared to the first week after surgery) I would have said you were lying. It's now my fifth week and I've actually started light aerobic exercise.

 Just wanted to let you know that above when I said I was a 34B.....that was more of my chest size than actual cup size. I am big boned and wore a larger bra size simply because I was bigger from back to front. Now with fuller breast I wear a 36 C. Only now my breast actually fill out the cup size.

I feel more feminine. I know that when the swelling is gone that I will look even better. After three children- my breasts were like empty bags. I felt so unattractive. I also enjoy weight training and now I won't feel like I am working my little chest away anymore. I used to feel like although I looked more toned and strong- my chest was being worked off with the exercise. My body will be so much better proportioned now. The only complication I had (if you can even call it one), is that the pain killers, Tylox, made me sick at my stomach (even with food) and caused some vomiting. Overall, it was much easier and painless than I had anticipated! I would do it again in a heartbeat!!! :)

breasts are now MUCH larger and I did not tell anyone I had surgery. I had thought about BA for 2+ years.  I am so thankful for this web site.  It helped me decide to finally do this.  I am thrilled with my new cleavage!!!

WORST PART OF SURGERY/COMPLICATIONS: The worst part was probably the anxiety about size.  I knew that I had to be happy with the size because I didn't want to be sorry after the fact after reading everyone else's experiences.   Right before surgery, I told him to go as big as he could and he HAD to use at least 300 cc's! I also was scared to death about pain, but was surprised that it really wasn't as bad as I anticipated!  Pressure I can take, and that's what I felt. I didn't have any complications.

WORST PART OF SURGERY/COMPLICATIONS: By far the worst part was making the decision to do the surgery--I lost 10 lbs. deciding.  I was much more nervous going to first consultations than to the actual surgery--by the surgery date, I felt very comfortable about my decision (thanks in a good part to this web site) and had a lot of confidence in my Plastic Surgeon.  I had a very easy recovery--little pain and no complications.
