COMMENT: I noticed that most of or all of the comments on your page are from women that have not had any problems, even though I have had mine removed after finding out that they had both ruptured and god knows where the silicone is! I am not against women having them put in, but find out all the facts, from both the pro and cons, and think long and hard.  If you thought that you were having weird feelings the night before you had them put in,think about the feelings you'll be experiencing if you have to have them taken out! Not to mention the cost of removing them everytime something goes wrong!

CHANGES IN NIPPLE SENSATION: For several weeks, perhaps even 2 or 3 months I had numbness in a
portion of one of my breasts as well as in the nipple.  This did go away however.  After that, I had all sensation in breasts and nipples, and perhaps a little hypersensitivity in the nipples.

WORST PART OF SURGERY: Just the pain afterwards.  I had pain in my back at first when laying down.  Also, I do remember the surgery, not the pain but the pressure.  Back then, they used valium with intravenous sedation, and now they use something much stronger I am told.

Has anyone made any negative remarks to you about your surgery?: No.  I have been asked though if I had had my breasts enhanced.  People have said they are just too perfect to be the real thing.  But I keep them wondering

COMMENT: One of my implants is very possibly ruptured so I am having them replaced with saline ones in about 10 days.  I am going a little larger as well.  I am currently 340 cc's and I'm going to 440 cc's.  I am hoping that surgery the second time around is not as painful as the first.  I have never regretted having this surgery.  Not even now that I have to do it again.

Add: perhaps with the silicone controversy, and an increasing number of women having them replaced with saline some information on the transition would be good.  For example, I wonder how different they will feel and look.  Are most women who make the transition happy with the saline?

COMMENT: After 10 years, my right implant deflated. The current cost to re-do it is about $5,000 in my area. I cannot afford this; when I got them done, it was only $2500 for both. So now I am going through life LOPSIDED! Bummer. Makes it difficult to know how to dress.

COMPLICATIONS: YES HARDENING WHICH FOR OVER TEN YEARS plastic surgeonS TRIED TO BREAK UP THE SCAR TISSUE BY HAND.  THIS PROCESS WAS PAINFUL AND THE BREASTS ONLY REMAINED SOFT FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS EVEN WITH MASSAGE AND I WAS BACK AGAIN. PLUS TEN YEARS LATER THEY SAY THIS TYPE OF BREAKING UP OF SCAR TISSUE WAS WRONG AND DANGEROUS. THEY HAVE NOW SHIFTED AND THE BREASTS ARE NO LONGER EVEN AND AFTER ALL THESE YEARS THE IMPLANT HAS WORN DOWN SOME OF MY OWN BREAST TISSUE.  I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT REPLACING THEM BUT WONDER IF THE PROBLEM OF HARDENING WILL ONLY HAPPEN AGAIN. ALSO THROUGH X-RAY THEY FOUND THE IMPLANTS DON'T APPEAR TO BE RUPTURED
BUT IF THEY ARE, THE SCAR TISSUE FORMED IS PROTECTING ME FROM LEAKAGE. AT WITS END AS TO WHAT I SHOULD DO.  KEEPING HOPING FOR BREAK THROUGH THAT WON'T INVOLVE SALINE BECAUSE THE RUPTURE FACTOR MAKES ME THINK OF
EVEN MORE SURGERIES.

RIPPLE COMMENTS: I had Dow Corning silicone smooth unders until May of this year.  When I replaced my implants, the PS (original BA PS) wanted to use textured silicone.  Even though they are under the muscle, I do have rippling.

HAPPY OVERALL with breast implants? yes

CHANGE IN NIPPLE SENSATION: My first surgery was in the areola.  When I recently replaced my implants, I needed a lift (Binelli).

After Pregnancy: Yes, I had two children and breastfed them without any difficulties.  The breastfeeding really stretched out my skin, along with the weight of the implant.  A lift was required because of this.

COMPLICATIONS: The silicone was absolutely beautiful, but alas after 18 years my plastic surgeon found a rupture, and named the problem as the catalyst for my silicone poisoning.  The newer saline implants are smaller :(, and the one on the left caused problems from the time they were implanted!

Has anyone made any negative remarks to you about your surgery?: No not one every one says that it looks great. Some say that the are really big, but not for my size.

COMMENT: I think over all if you research it and do what your plastic surgeon says then every thing should be fine. If you don't then a lot of bad things can happen like hard breast and a lot worse. I have seen worse being in the medical field.
